Marsha Serlin was a single mother of two when she started what would become United Scrap Metal in 1978. As a single mom at the time, she saw an opportunity to grow a business and support her family collecting scrap metal from alleys, manufacturers and facilities. Today, she runs a multi-million dollar business with major facilities in Chicago, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Richmond, Virginia, Charlotte, North Carolina and Indianapolis, IN.
