Ling Tang first learned about coronavirus from family members back in her native Wuhan, China, where it was first discovered. With professional training in traditional Chinese and contemporary dance styles Ling has performed at prominent venues including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. As an educator she teaches through Young Audiences New York and Flushing Council on Culture & Arts, offering Chinese dance and cultural workshops.

As an arts consultant, Ling has been a program officer at the Asian Cultural Council and an intern at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She holds a B.A. in dance and intercultural performing arts from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in arts administration from Columbia University.
