Have you ever thought about what your favorite actor did before snagging their most known roles?

Before her breakthrough roles, Kathryn Morris, like many actors, was honing her craft. Her dedication and hard work eventually led her to her most known roles.

Morris played the wife of Tom Cruise in Minority Report just a year before solving cold cases on Cold Case. The 2002 cyberpunk action film starred Cruise as Chief John Anderton, the Precrime program commanding officer. Morris played his estranged wife, Lara Anderton, who left her husband after his six-year-old son was abducted and never found. John became depressed, and apparently, it was too much for his wife to handle.

The movie's plot follows John Anderton on the run after he flees the Precrime program because there is a prediction that he'll kill a man he never met. The main character goes through a series of cyber/crime events, and Morris' character, Lara, helps her husband get his life back on track.

They eventually reconnected, and Lara became pregnant with another child. The film was a box office hit, grossing over $358 million and garnering an Academy award nomination for Best Sound Editing.

Kathryn Morris's portrayal of Lara in Minority Report is a stark contrast to her role as Lilly Rush in Cold Case. In the latter, Rush doesn't have a child or an estranged husband, adding a versatile mix to her resume.
