Covert Affairs takes cues from 1997's La Femme Nikita, a show that follows a female agent of secret organization. Alias also follows a similar concept.

This isn't the first time Piper Perabo has played a federal agent
Piper Perabo stars as main character Annie, who has just joined the CIA after finishing her training. This however, isn't the first time Perabo played a federal agent. She played Karen Sympathy in 2000's The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle movie.
The show was filmed in Toronto
