At some point in our lives, we've all created a relationship name for celebrity and fictional couples. You know, like "Kimye" (for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, when they were married) or "Bennifer" (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez). For Major Crimes' characters Detective Andy Flynn and Sharon Raydor, it was "Shandy."

Tony Denison portrayed Detective Andy Flynn on The Closer and Major Crimes, and Mary McDonnell was Sharon Raydor on both. They brought the characters to life for over a decade and loved every second. "People ask me all the time if I'm tired of playing Andy," Denison told The Atlanta Constitution in 2016. "No, not in the least. Why would I be?"

Well, he wasn't tired of the part because he loved working with Mary McDonnell. Their characters got closer on Major Crimes, creating a community of die-hard fans who loved everything "Shandy." The plot in season four was the beginning of their love story, and in the season five debut, they were talking about moving in with each other.

"I'm really looking forward to the way the storyline will unfold between Mary and me for a lot of reasons. It is fun to play that story. Mary is a wonderful person. I've been a fan of hers for years, going back to Dancing with Wolves and Passion Fish films ('90s movies)," the actor added.

Apparently, the romance sparked a crazy moment for fans, courtesy of the producers being responsive to the fan base. There was also the Flynn craze era, and it involved a fan page on Facebook called "Flynn Girls," which also had a popular "#FlynnGirls" Twitter(X) hashtag. The then 66-year-old loved all of the attention.

"I'm not a kid; they are really into this thing. I'm happy to be a boy toy."
