Melina Kanakaredes is known for her television roles as Sydney Hansen in Providence, Det. Stella Bonasera in CSI: NY and Eleni Andros Cooper in Guiding Light (which is her first TV role). The actress made her mark in the television industry and didn't shy away from the big screen.

One of those film appearances is a 2013 Action Thriller with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The film is called Snitch, and yes, it's as dramatic and action-filled as the name. Kanakaredes plays Sylvie Collins, Johnson's character's ex-wife and the mother of his son Jason.

Jason Collins, a college student and the son of John Matthews and Sylvie Collins, is set up by his friend, Craig. The friend convinced him to allow a shipment of substances to be delivered to his house. Jason is arrested, and Craig (who was facing his own charges) gets a reduced sentence as a result of "ratting" or "snitching" on his friend.

Sylvie calls her ex-husband, John Matthews (The Rock), and the entire movie revolves around him working with a local United States Attorney and drug dealers (plus whoever crosses his path) to help his son get released.

In the end (SPOILER ALERT), Jason is eventually released, but John and his family (new wife and daughter) have to go into witness protection.
