From James Evans on Good Times to the weatherman on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Amos always left something special with his roles that viewers could see beyond their television screens.
Throughout his illustrious career, John Amos showcased his versatility by appearing on a variety of shows, including one-off roles on Start TV shows like Touched by an Angel and Murder, She Wrote.
On February 22, 1987, Amos appeared in the season three episode of Murder, She Wrote, "Death Takes a Drive." The plot focuses on Jessica Fletcher visiting an old friend, Harry McGraw, in Boston, who has become wrangled in a high-stakes boxing game. Amos played Doc Penrose. Fletcher began training with Blaster Boyle to win a boxing match.
