In Her Words: Maddie Schneider

When a local coffeehouse was closing, she saw it as an opportunity to follow her dream of owning a bakery. While Maddie found it difficult to open a new business during the pandemic, her family, friends, and community came together to support her. Named after her grandma, Maddie opened Lela’s Bakery and Coffeehouse in Haviland, Kansas in September 2020.
