Crista Samaras coaches teen girls to pursue bravery over perfection

Crista Samaras is the CEO and Founder of Brave Enterprises, an organization inspiring teen girls and teaching them the skills necessary to be resilient and brave.

She told Start TV that when girls shift from age 11 to 12, suddenly what scares them most shifts from physical fears like heights or bugs to emotion-driven fears like rejection, loss or failure. With Samaras' help, girls can learn an important lesson about overcoming fear. She offers these words of encouragement to anyone struggling: "It will not bury you, if you don’t let it.”

Samaras began her career as a lacrosse coach, a sport she has been active in since college. Now she leads Brave Enterprises with the same determination she demonstrated to her players on the field. She told Start TV that it's impossible to become fearless. That's why she prefers this mantra instead, “Don’t be fearless. Just be brave.”
