“Women are highly underrepresented in the art world," Camilla Webster told Start TV in the video above. She paints to change that. A bestselling author and visual artist, Webster has exhibited her paintings at prestigious international art shows like Art Basel. Her portraits and abstracts are also housed in private collections around the world.

But to Webster, it's about more than just creating art. It's about supporting other artists, too. "I truly would encourage other women to start collecting paintings and installations and modern art by women.”

As a primarily self-taught artist, Webster got her start by struggling on the canvas. In the video below, she explained, "I would paint all day, then I would be furious at what I had created. I’d throw it in the garbage." Luckily, fate (and her earliest supporter) intervened.
