Annie studied women’s history in college and graduate school. Her passion has always been to give women voices and to tell their stories.

Abused as a child she knows firsthand the struggles young girls go through to be heard. She later joined Teach for America and taught 2nd grade before teaching a business class at the high school level. While teaching the business class she discovered she could help young girls by starting her own program.

In 2013, she launched Mission Propelle. This after school program teaches young girls and boys through stories and yoga how to find a positive inner voice. Now more than 10,000 school children in Chicago have participated in the program.

Watch more on how Warshaw wants to help girls of every age feel comfortable about speaking up.
