Carroll Bogert started her career as a foreign correspondent for Newsweek magazine, covering stories in China, Southeast Asia and Russia. She then joined Human Rights Watch, running their global media operations. Carroll now serves as President of The Marshall Project, a nonpartisan, nonprofit news organization reporting on the U.S. criminal justice system.
