Turning 30 wasn't a big deal for Charmed's Alyssa Milano
Society has turned being 30 into a life crisis. Supposedly, you start having back and knee problems, life gets harder, and you're officially an old ball of dust since your Twenties are in the past. (see how silly this sounds?)
Oh, and if you're a woman who isn't married with a family by 30, your life isn't complete (another silly thing to say). Women in Hollywood have to go through aging in front of the judgmental industry and millions of viewers. The upbeat, fun roles are no longer available, but they can make you look older to play the mom of someone just a few years younger than you. For example, Angela Lansbury was only nine years older than Elvis when she played his mom in her Thirties.
Fortunately for Charmed's Alyssa Milano, turning 30 was all about starting a new chapter. "I think people freak out (about turning 30) when they don't feel like they've accomplished what they need to by then. I wasn't freaked out at all. Just excited," she told TV Guide in 2002.
People were also over-analyzing her new relationship with singer Justin Timberlake, already expecting an engagement announcement. "I'm not getting married. Our relationship is so new we don't even really know what it is yet."
