Remember when Rory and Lorelai egged Jess's car?

  Warner Bros. Television

Imagine someone flaunting a new car (used, but still new to them) after wrecking yours not too long ago. Wouldn't that make you want to do something like egg their car? Alright, you won't take things that far, but Rory and Lorelai did, and it was a special bonding moment.

In the episode "Take the Deviled Eggs...," Jess has new wheels, and Luke is curious about how he got them. He doesn't pay him enough at the diner to purchase a car, so his uncle wants to make sure Jess didn't do anything illegal. In a different episode, "Teach Me Tonight," Jess swerved Rory's car to avoid hitting an animal, crashing it. There were no major injuries except Rory's fractured wrist, but Lorelai was still furious.

Fast forward back to the eggs episode, Lane and Rory were walking when they spotted Jess's new car. "Jess? The guy who wrecked your car has a car now? That's outrageous. That's a travesty," Lane said, visibly upset for her best friend. They exchange words with Jess as he approaches the car, annoyed that everyone in town is so fascinated by his purchase.

But in Rory's words, "It's not the car, it's who's got the car."

The teen also got an invitation to her dad's girlfriend's baby shower after being in contact with Christopher without telling Lorelai.

Later, after being pressured into attending the celebration with Rory, Lorelai goes and sort of has a meltdown in the bathroom. Sherry is having a girl, and Christopher is apparently a changed man. While on the way home, Rory got the idea of egging Jess's vehicle to make her mom feel better.

Someone also wants to stage a protest in the town square, but no one understands what they're saying. Maybe it was "Stop the noodle shoes"?
