Start TV Presents: The Power of Perseverance: Women and the Pandemic. Coming this Saturday, July 9th!

In this original special, The Power and Perseverance: Women and the Pandemic, Start TV documents three exceptional and inspiring women. These women come from varied industries and socio-economic backgrounds. They openly share their stories of loss, struggle and perseverance during the last two years of challenges amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This one hour special premieres Saturday, July 9 at 11P | 10C.

Meet the women featured in The Power and Perseverance: Women and the Pandemic:

Dr. Kate Deisseroth:

When the COVID-19 pandemic swept the United States, it wreaked havoc on air force veteran, orthopedic surgeon and single mom Dr. Kate Deisseroth's ability to work and have child-care full time. Kate spent months searching for a way to reconfigure her life, ultimately devising a plan that would allow her to better balance her personal and professional responsibilities.

Jessyca Mathews:

High school teacher Jessyca Mathews gained national attention for her opinion letter published in The Washington Post (2020), in which she expressed the challenges a teacher faces during the pandemic. Many students like hers were facing economic struggles without home internet or access to a quiet place for virtual learning.

Ellen Kuwana:

In March 2020, Ellen Kuwana founded WeGotThisSeattle, a volunteer emergency relief project that has fed more than 56,000 frontline and essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this effort to date, she has fundraised over $126,000 and helped keep more than 150 Seattle restaurants in business.

I’ve been watching this show for quite some time and it’s a great show! But I’m confused about Theresa or Ms. Morales, the spanish lady who’s the teacher on the show and I was wanting to know if that’s the same actress the whole time who played her part because I think she looks different near the end of the show? WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THAT’S THE SAME LADY WHO PLAYS THE PART OF MS.THERESA MORALES; THE SPANISH LADY WHO’S THE TEACHER AND EVENTUALLY MARRIES JAKE SLICKER, THE MAYOR? OR IS THAT TWO DIFFERENT WOMEN THAT PLAYED HER PART???
Thank you guys,
Natalie

Isn't this an overkill? We have been bombarded with Covid data and info to the max as we humans can bear it, and now our favorite medium is turning on us with this? Come on programming people, leave us alone about the Covid BS already! We are tired of it!! Can't you tell when you speak with everyday people, or did you forget how to do that as well?
