Actress and singing sensation Hayden Panettiere embodies the role of Juliette Barnes on Nashville. Despite growing up in New York most of her life, Panettiere had no trouble adapting to the southern lifestyle of a hit country rock star.
Much of her seamless transition into her character comes from her dedication to being country. While many actors travel out to their location or even rely on green screens, Panettiere actually lived in Nashville, Tennessee while filming the series.
“The people here are amazing. Living in Nashville gives me a sense of normalcy that I wasn't sure I was ever going to get back in my life. When I first got here, all my defenses were still up, and I was waiting for that world to suddenly creep back in. When it didn't, I realized that I can live a normal life here with people who don't judge you based on what you do or who you are in the public eye,” said Panettiere in an interview with Southern Living about her experience living in Nashville.
She grew accustomed to her new home in Nashville fast. Panettiere even noted how the different lifestyle in Nashville actually suits her better than New York or L.A.
“It's a lot more laid-back, which suits me better. In L.A. and New York, you go out to lunch and everyone is wearing high heels. In Nashville, if I see someone wearing heels, I get the sense they might not be from around here.”
Fans of the show are thankful for her commitment to her character and the southern lifestyle as well. In a world filled with green screens and backdrops, it's good to see actors like Panettiere still putting in the real work.
